Projects, code, and systems work

Code that came from needing to understand the whole machine.

This page goes deeper than the resume: operating-system work, desktop experiments, harness engineering tools, automation platforms, and AI tooling that turned vague workflows into runnable software.

Public systems work.

RefugeOS and Valkyrie are the most personal examples: built to learn the stack end to end and to stop accepting limited options as a permanent constraint.

Valkyrie

Companion work around the Refuge ecosystem, focused on practical system interaction, desktop behavior, and the operator experience of making Linux feel intentional.

  • Explores how services, desktop controls, and workflow surfaces should cooperate.
  • Shows comfort debugging across boundaries instead of staying inside one framework.

Public Code Habit

The Codeberg/GitHub presence is not just portfolio decoration. It reflects a bias toward building visible artifacts, keeping momentum, and learning through implementation.

  • Codeberg is the primary home for Refuge-related work.
  • GitHub remains useful for broader experiments, utilities, and public profile discovery.

Engineering tools and automation.

These are the work-shaped projects: tools that make engineering comparisons, AI workflows, and infrastructure operations easier to run repeatedly.

DeltaManager

A harness comparison tool for analyzing engineering changes, compare reports, 3DXML parsing, and CATIA-assisted workflows.

  • Turns harness change comparison into a more inspectable workflow.
  • Combines domain-specific parsing with practical reporting and automation.
  • Fits the larger theme: reduce manual review friction and make engineering differences easier to reason about.

Aivato AI Tooling

Production code for AI-agent workflows: tool execution, guardrails, MCP integrations, RAG-backed retrieval, workflow helpers, and internal engineering tools.

  • Built around useful agent behavior instead of demo-only prompting.
  • Focused on safe tool use, retrieval, guardrails, and repeatable engineering workflows.
  • Includes practical product surfaces like compare reporting, QA, PDF-to-BOM, parts/cost data, lenses, exports, and wire tracing.

Ansible / AWX / AAP Workflows

Automation platform work around playbooks, roles, inventories, credentials, job templates, surveys, RBAC, workflow templates, and controlled self-service operations.

  • Designed for repeatable Linux operations and safer remediation.
  • Connects automation to monitoring, incident response, and operator workflows.

SRE Platform Tools

Automation frameworks, Vault-backed credential rotation, Oracle installation automation, AWS SFTP, containerized service migrations, and monitoring-triggered remediation.

  • Pattern: turn repeatable operational burden into controlled software.
  • Pattern: make the safe path the easy path for teams operating production systems.

Local product builds.

These are larger local projects from my workspace: developer tools, job-search automation, desktop applications, Android bridge work, and session/control-plane infrastructure.

Product and platform builds.

These projects show the other side of the work: practical business software, domain-specific engineering tools, and platform services that move from idea to usable workflow.

Odin CMDB

A Go-based configuration-management database with server, agent, and key-generation components for host inventory and tagged system metadata.

  • Agent collects host identity, hostname, memory, CPU count, OS/release data, and network interfaces.
  • Server exposes HTTP endpoints for registration, record updates, API keys, and plugin-backed storage.
  • Keygen utility provisions team API keys against the CMDB service.

HarnessStudio

A cross-platform harness engineering workbench built around a neutral harness model, migration adapters, validation, API surfaces, and an Avalonia desktop UI.

  • Moves beyond a converter by routing through core domain models, schema conformance, round-trip tests, and real sample fidelity.
  • Includes LDorado/XD migration work, schematic rendering, packaging, and pilot-release workflows.
  • Uses .NET/Avalonia to deliver the “newer WPF, but cross-platform” desktop experience.

VeriHome

An inspection-operations SaaS MVP for home inspection companies, focused first on booking, scheduling, availability, CRM/referrals, and admin operations.

  • Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind, FullCalendar, Prisma, SQLite locally, and PostgreSQL deployment schema.
  • Public booking flow at `/book` and admin operations under `/admin`.
  • Stripe signup billing, email delivery, seeded data, and mock service boundaries for calendar, payment, notifications, travel time, and geocoding.

RapidRFQ

A local-first RFQ intake and estimator workspace for machine shops, built to accept STEP files and PDF drawings, analyze job readiness, and support quote workflow decisions.

  • .NET 8 Web API, React/Vite/TypeScript frontend, SQLite database, and local upload storage.
  • Estimator-focused RFQ inbox/detail workflow with local users, roles, audit trail, backups, and shop settings.
  • Backend tests cover quote math, STEP parsing, document extraction, supplier follow-up timing, portal tokens, similar-job scoring, and quote consolidation.

Want to talk through the work?

I’m available for roles or projects where Linux, automation, internal tooling, SRE, or AI workflows need someone who can build and operate the real thing.
